Planned   Leave a comment

Sometimes before I go on my longer lunch breaks, I plan out what I need to get done. Today’s list was: nap. In my car. In a sparsely occupied parking lot. My daughter had some minor gum/mouth surgery yesterday but it kept us up on and off all night, so I am just wiped. Add in a couple more episodes of Supernatural than I should’ve watched, and you’ve got a recipe for sloggishness (yes that is a word).

So nap was calling me today, but you know how the best laid plans go. That’s right. A rye. Like bread.

First, I ran into a fellow employee in the parking lot and we talked about work in general: the highs, but mostly the lows. Then I had to call my husband and mom, who were watching over my healing daughter today. Then I remembered I had a book to read for some Young Living training I signed up for. The message of the book is great, but it is a SLLOOOOWWW read. Very dry. Well by the time all those things were said and done, I only had about 20 minutes left. So I stopped at KFC and got a BBQ chicken sandwich, ate it, read some more, there you have it: one lunch break done.

Now at work for several more hours. Rock on!

  • Time flies when you’re having fun. Make the most of it.

Weigh Time   Leave a comment

Today’s blog title has a double meaning.

1. Yes, I weighed myself. My team of Young Living reps have decided to start a weight loss challenge, using Young Living products such as Slique tea, Slique Essence, Balance Complete, and Sulfurzyme. So far today, I have managed to NOT each any chocolate. This is a huge deal, folks! So I weighed myself. I shall not share my weight because I’m embarrassed by it, but I will tell you my total weight loss at the end of two months.

2. I also did weights on my lunch break. And sit ups. And a spot of yoga. I didn’t want to go running (after all who has time to get dressed, including shoes, and run, and get back in a non-sweaty way to your desk in 30 minutes) but I still had a nice mini workout. It went fast! I had the weight room to myself, plus a little Shinedown to keep me company.

So, game on! Let’s get this show on the road!

  • Working out is easier alone than in a group (IMO).
  • Weight loss is hard! Must keep trying!

Final Day of July   Leave a comment

Currently it is 84 degrees out, and a bit humid. But we Minnesotans persevere!

I stopped at KFC for lunch today and got their 6-piece chicken bites, just to try them ’cause they’re new. I would give them . . . 7 out of 10 stars. They were good, but nothing uber special. Plus I asked for honey mustard sauce, but they forgot that. And napkins.

Then I went and sat in a shaded parking lot. With the windows of my car down, the breeze was pretty nice, so I sat and worked on a book that a friend of a friend is writing. I’m just correcting it, adding notes, grammar suggestions, etc. I’ve had it for a while though so I need to finish it up and send it back. Almost done!

That about sums up my lunch break!

  • Take solace in silence.
  • KFC Bites are probably the healthiest thing on the menu.

P.S. This picture means nothing, I just thought it was pretty to look at. 🙂

P.P.S I like Young Living Oils a lot.

Money, It’s a Hit   Leave a comment

I was reading the lyrics to Pink Floyd’s “Money” and it really makes sense. It’s about as relevant today as it was back in 1973. Plus it was interesting reading about it general:

Anyway! Today for my lunch break, I dealt with money. First I went and deposited some:

That’s right, that IS $15 big bucks right there. You can be jealous, I’m loaded.

Tomorrow our Young Living Essential Oils goes in and I want to make sure there are no overdrafts or anything. Not that I’m worried, but you always need a little cushion.

Since the weather we’re having is totally MONEY right now, I figured it would be a shame to sit indoors. So I balanced my checkbook in the car with the windows open and the sun shining in.

For the record, I balanced. 🙂

  • It’s amazing what a sunny day can do for your mood.
  • Money: the cause of and solution to all of life’s problems.

Back At It   Leave a comment

Yesterday was a glorious day off for me and the kids. We just hung out (hanged out?) for the morning, then went into town to run some errands and meet up with my husband/their dad for lunch.

Today for lunch, I was really not sure what to do. See, I’ve been waiting (impatiently) for a package to arrive since last week and since there was no mail  yesterday, it arrived today. To clarify, we have our mail delivered to a post office because if things were mailed to our home, we would have to use the physical address of a neighboring town as our mailing address and that just gets confusing. And of course the post office is only open during the regular work day (8-5) which doesn’t bode well with my schedule.

So the question: should I or shouldn’t I waste a gallon of gas to go get the mail during my lunch break?

I threw caution to the wind and decided I would just go for it. Yeah, I’m a daredevil.

I’m actually glad I did go, my package was there, just waiting for me to pick it up. It included the following awesome products:

  • Life 5
  • Citrus Fresh Oil
  • Peppermint Oil
  • Thieves Oil
  • Grapefruit lip balm
  • Peppermint-Cedarwood soap

For those of you who recognize this list, you are more than likely involved in Young Living Essential Oils and kudos to you. This company has kept us out of the hospital all season, so I am grateful for everything they offer. I’m very excited to try the Life 5 which is a strong probiotic and intestinal supporter.

  • Sometimes you don’t have to have patience. Just go do it yourself.
  • If you find something that works, stick with it no matter what anyone says.

Quick Trip   Leave a comment

Today’s lunch was just a quick trip to the bank to deposit some money into my little account that I use for Avon and Young Living Oils. Honestly, there is not much money in that one. 🙂

But I have an order from both of my “businesses” coming next week, so I figured I’d make sure there was enough

for my

And now, thankfully, there is.

Have a great weekend everyone, back on Monday!

  • Be prepared.

Picking Up and Dropping Off   Leave a comment

Thirty minutes goes fast when you have things to do!

My first stop was to pick up an oil for a friend. My up-line person/friend for Young Living oils had an oil for another friend so the latter friend wouldn’t have to pay shipping for it. Get it? 🙂

Peace & Calming oil is great for, well, peace and calming. This is what it says on the  Young Living website:

Peace & Calming® is a gentle, fragrant blend. When diffused, it helps calm tensions and uplift the spirit, promoting relaxation and a deep sense of peace. When massaged on the bottoms of the feet, it can be a wonderful prelude to a peaceful night’s rest. Peace & Calming may be especially calming and comforting to young children after an overactive and stressful day.

This one is on my wish list (along with about 20 other oils . . .)

My second and final stop was to Goodwill. My lovely husband cleaned out the garage this weekend and found a lot of things we’ve been hanging onto that just needed to be let go.

There’s even more behind the toy scooter thing that you can’t see in this picture: shoes, stuffed animals, etc. It’s a good feeling to A: purge and B: give it to someone else that can use it.

And then I had to hightail it back to work so I wouldn’t be late. It’s been one of “those” days today but I am fighting back against my circumstances. It’s hard work, but it has to have a good outcome!

  • Having a “purge fest” on your house and garage once a year is a healthy thing.
  • Sometimes Western medicine isn’t the ONLY way to make you feel better.
