Today, on my quest to not drop money on shopping over lunch, I went to the mother of all freebies: the library.
There is a little known library branch in Waite Park called the Al Ringsmuth library. It’s small but it’s air-conditioned. Plus their limited choices (as opposed to the massive location in St. Cloud) are perfect for a little lunchtime excursion.
I grabbed three books randomly, based on their cover art and brief sleeve description, as well as three videos for the kids. We don’t have daycare this week, so hopefully this will ease some of their boredom if tomorrow is as hot as today is.
There were several people there using the public computers. I often wonder about them. Are they unemployed? Bored and want to get out of the house? Slackers? Are they lonely? When I went today there were two older gentlemen (“grandpas”), a guy who looked to be in his mid-thirties, and a woman who looked like she was in her late 20s. The woman was playing games on the computer, the other three looked to be doing research or reading something. I always want to ask them what they’re story is, but of course that’s rude. Human nature is intriguing, isn’t it?
